The Capital Market and Financial Institutions Supervisory Board (Bapepam-LK) has allowed state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) to double the value of its bonds offered to Rp3 trillion.

Indonesia is projected to require an investment of up to US$4 billion to finance its energy efficiency program, an Asian Development Bank (ADB) official said.

Indonesia is supporting efforts to improve regulations related to financial institutions. This is part of the agreement made by finance ministers and central bank governors of G-20 countries in London, last week.
The meeting requires banks to increase the amount and quality of their capital reserves, including their assets.
